Sorry for the late posts.  I've been distracted.  And also lazy.  But I HAVE been faithfully counting my calories and weighing myself.

...unfortunately for you, while my fancy iPhone app does record and graph my weight every day, it is hard to read previous dates....so I don't have all my weigh-in numbers.   I can only tell you that they are slow, but awesome drops in weight.  I have made up some numbers for you done my best to recall what those numbers were, and included them here!

So it is the end of an overall successful week!  I started the week at 164.3 lbs, and ended it today at 161.2 lbs.  This means that in 7 days, I have lost 3.1 lbs.  Excellent. =)

I was SUPER pleased with my weigh-in this morning!  Especially since I was nervous about going over yesterday!  Also, Tyler and I did my yoga routine this morning.  We added in some sets of sit-ups and push-ups....well....Tyler did the push-ups anyways.  I kinda....attempted to do them....ish. lol.

I also went grocery shopping for the first time since I started my diet today.  I bought some fruit, and some slimfast shakes (which I may or may not like, but I'm hoping I will like!), some diet friendly frozen dinners, and some muffin mixes that produce tasty and relatively low calorie muffins!  I think things are going good so far.  I am pleased with my progress. =)

Day 004

This was a HARD day.  It was Hayden's birthday party, and then Stephen and I spent the afternoon and early evening on the road, so food choices were very limited. We ended up at McDonald's, and I ended up with French Fries in my hand.  But I was kinda strong....I didn't get a meal....only a small fries...and I drank water.

Yeah, it was really hard.  Also I am completely ashamed of how much I enjoyed those fries!  Anyways, because I was still traveling, I did not have access to my scale at the usual weigh-in time.

Day 003

Today was really hard! I spent the day with family, which basically means that I had a lot less control over what I ate. We ended up going out to eat lunch. Because this was my first experience with restaurant eating while on a diet it proved really difficult. In the end though, I pushed through the meal, and ended up making it to the end of the day having eaten way fewer calories than I expected or hoped for.

Also, as I do not have access to my scale, I will have to apologize for having no weigh-in today. I won't have one for tomorrow either. But I will be back on track on Monday with my daily weigh-ins. =)

As far as traveling goes, road trips have definitely made my diet really hard to stick to.  Every McDonald's we passed BEGGED me to stop and order up a nice fried chicken sandwich with a side of extra large, extra salty, extra heavenly, crispy, golden fries of deliciousness....but....I didn't stop anywhere.  And BOY was it hard!  I was prepared.  I packed a few peanut butter sandwiches and a box of fruit snacks snack packs.  I can only hope to do as well on the drive home!

Day 001

Today is my first day of the new diet.  I am excited to be doing something good for my body, but I am concerned about my willpower and ability to resist foods I love to eat...

Yesterday I ate the way I typically would, and came out to about 2000 calories.  This is my baseline.  I want to cut my daily consumption by 500 calories, for sure.  So 1500 daily allotted calories it is!

I downloaded a free app onto my iPhone called "MyFitnessPal," and it is awesome.  I can add anything I eat, as I eat it, and it will keep track of my calories for me.  It can also search for keywords and such, with a nice full database, so I don't have to remember how many calories are in certain things.  I can also save meals that I eat often.  This is super handy =).

I started my morning with a long walk at a MUCH faster pace than usual.  Tyler and I got out and got some exercise. Granted, it wasn't MUCH, but the plan is for MWF to be power yoga days, and TThSS to be walking days.  I hope I can keep up with it!

I'll update tonight with my calories for today.  I plan to include my daily weigh in in EVERY post.  I can only pray that I will keep up!

Also, I took my first pictures...my "before" pictures.  I will post them in their own page, for those of you who feel so inclined as to witness my fatness with your own eyes!  When I lose a few pounds, I'll update it again, and add more photos.

Preparation

I am going to go on a diet.  I want to lost 40 pounds.  My mom is going to join me on this journey.  We both want to lose 7 pounds by christmas.  That's the first goal.

I'm going to record my journey here on a blog...because I think that will help my stick with it.  Making myself write down every calorie I consume for the world to see MIGHT just help me be more conscious of those calories as I'm consuming them.

Today, I am eating like normal, so I can get an idea of how many calories I consume on a typical day.  Tomorrow starts the diet.  For real.

These are the things I am pledging to myself, and to you, internet, that I am going to do.
  • I will eat no more than 1500 calories in a day
  • I will weigh myself every morning
  • I will measure my waist every week
  • I will update the calories I've eaten on this blog every day.
  • I will put up pictures of me in a bathing suit for every 5 pounds I lose.
 So follow along for my weight loss journey.

....or don't.   It's up to you.

For this blog, I find that I don't care who reads it.  Because I'm doing this for me.
